Most of our pieces are easy to look after, but each fabric has its own rules. Here is how to wash and dry the fabrics you will find at Mujer, based on the care instructions on each product page. When in doubt, the label on the garment always comes first.
A Few Rules for Everything
- Wash in cold water with a mild detergent.
- Don’t use bleach.
- Don’t wring or twist. Press the water out gently instead.
- Dry away from direct sun, which fades colors faster.
Satin
Satin pieces, like our satin midi skirt and halter cami top, are made of polyester satin. Hand wash cold or dry clean, then hang to dry. If it needs smoothing, use a steamer or an iron on low heat with the piece inside out, because high heat can leave shiny marks.
Knits
Knitwear, like the buttoned cropped vest, should be hand washed in cold water and dried flat on a towel. Hanging a wet knit pulls it out of shape.
Stretch Bodysuits
Our bodysuits are made of a polyester blend with medium stretch. Hand wash cold and lay flat to dry, which keeps the stretch and the fit you bought them for.
Denim
Our denim set is one of the easiest pieces to care for: machine wash cold and line dry. Washing it inside out helps the color last longer.
Suede-Feel and Soft Jackets
The oversized bomber is polyester with a suede feel, not real leather. Hand wash it cold or take it to a dry cleaner on a delicate cycle. The soft cropped bomber is even simpler: machine wash cold and tumble dry low.
Taking care of your clothes starts with the right size, too, so a piece isn’t stretched or strained when you wear it. See How to Find Your Size, or get outfit ideas in How to Style a Satin Midi Skirt.
